I released this solo album back in April, and it was recorded in February. I play mostly harp and added lots of trombone, upright bass, drums, and clarinet. I am not sure why I started playing harp, and I’m not sure why it took me so long to post anything about it on my own webpage… But I did put a lot of love into this project and will continue to do more in the years to come. I wouldn’t be able to afford getting this album well produced, but I hope that as I get better at the harp I’ll work up more resources to do so.

Over this last summer both Fang Chia and The Rusty Cleavers have recorded new albums and we are currently in the mixing process for both. I was excited because up until now, both bands have only released material through DIY recordings. Finally we got some professional help to make everything sound better.

This year I decided to go back into teaching music in the schools. I have found a part time position that allows me a little more flexibility to play music (while still keeping my sanity). Teaching in schools is an incredibly complex art that makes performing on any stage seem like a walk in the park, and I am excited to be engaged in this work again.

More later, lots of work to do
